We've got some big news...
June 21, 2006
It's been a very exciting month for us.
Our big news is that Paul and Cindy, the creators of wedding-flowers-guide.com, are getting married!
I think Cindy thought I'd never get round to proposing, but I finally popped the question.
Oddly enough, after doing so many other peoples' wedding flowers, we still can't agree on what flowers we should have for our own wedding. Still, we've got plenty of time to decide as we are looking at getting married in 2008.
I didn't buy the engagement ring in advance as I guessed that Cindy would love choosing one for herself. Boy was that a good decision! I didn't realise that there were so many different designs and options to choose from.
As well as visiting our local jewellers, we've been to the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, UK. This is one of the largest specialist jewellery manufacturing areas in Europe. Well worth a visit, and with 100+ jewellery shops you are bound to find something to your taste.
We are revisiting our selected jeweller again this weekend to finalise the details of the ring that he is going to make for us. All very exciting!
We did the flowers for a lovely couple that got married at Walton Hall, Warwickshire last weekend. This is a great venue for weddings and the grounds complete with lake make for some wonderful photo opportunities.
We created a pair of flower trees for this wedding. The theme was pink so we used pink gerberas as the main flower supported by chrysanthemums. I've uploaded a photo to the website and written a few words.
A pair of flower trees are a great way to mark an entrance to a reception room.
We know that some users of our website want to create their own flowers. So we are putting together an ebook with step-by-step guide to creating wedding flowers including bouquets and centrepieces. It is likely to be finished in about 3 weeks or so.
We are looking for a couple of reviewers of the book before we launch it. If you'd like to receive a free copy and don't mind writing a very short review for us (a few sentences) please fill in our contact form stating you'd like a free review copy of the ebook.
Contact us before the end of June, as we will probably be charging for it after that date.
FREE WEDDING PLANNING SOFTWARE
I came across this free wedding planning software when I was doing some online research, and thought you maybe interested in it.
It allows you to keep a track of your budget, organise your guests and manage your time in the run up to the big day.
Software like this often costs about $30. What's the catch? There's a small banner ad for a hotel resort on the software. If you can put up with that, then the software is yours for FREE. Here's the download link.
