Real Weddings - Emma’s Sunflower Wedding Fowers
I don’t get asked to do many weddings using sunflowers. But as you can see from the pictures here, they can make an absolutely stunning statement on your wedding day. For Emma, they made the perfect choice for her summer wedding.
As sunflower wedding flowers are also quite large, they can work out as a very cost effective way to produce beautiful wedding decorations – as you do not need so many.
Bridal Bouquet and Groom’s Boutonniere
For the bride’s bouquet I produced a hand-tied posy using sunflowers as the focal flower, backed by white bouvardia flowers, eucalyptus and fatsia leaves.
Emma wanted to incorporate summer wheat into her bouquet so you can also see this in her bouquet.
The bridegroom wore a yellow rose boutonniere, as sunflowers are a little too large to be worn on a jacket. This coordinated with the yellow theme of the wedding.
Wedding Venue Flowers
The wedding centerpieces were created using sunflowers together with fatsia leaves.
These arrangements worked well on the long tables of the wedding venue.
A finishing touch was to place the centerpieces on mirrors and sprinkle yellow rose petals around the base.
Emma had a civil ceremony in the same hotel, so we made the most of her wedding budget by using some of the wedding centerpieces to decorate the registrar’s table.
Summer Wedding Theme
Emma made an excellent color choice of yellow for her summer wedding. She decorated the seating plan with this color and even the napkins had yellow ribbon attached. We helped by placing yellow rose petals on venue tables and the registrar’s table.
The size and colour of sunflowers can be a real ‘wow’ factor for guests. They are also rarely seen at weddings so are a good choice if you want something a little bit different.
Here is what Emma said after the wedding:
“Overwhelmed – the flowers were absolutely perfect in every detail – everyone commented on them all day”
